Grade 1-2 Activity Wrap Up

This spring, we had an American Girl Doll Club for the first time at KIS. The American Girl Magazine is one of our most popular magazines in our elementary library and we wanted to explore it more.
This activity was a great opportunity to share our ideas about life, read more and enjoy creative play with our dolls.

We also enjoyed special guest readers
during our Book Week!

Every year, American Girl comes out with a different doll and a book sharing her story. In 2013, it was Saige.

Isabelle (2014) and Grace (2015) are the most recent additions to the collection.  Happy reading!

Roscoe Riley Rules

Meet Roscoe - an appealing, lively, good-hearted boy.  He has the best of intentions but somehow his attempts to help just end up resulting in chaos.  Mishap-prone and a trouble magnet he is!

In his first book, Never Glue Your Friends to Chairs, Roscoe tells his own story of how he learned the meaning and repercussions of permanent glue to the hard way.

The first seven books in the Roscoe Riley's Rules series by author Katherine Applegate are now available in our library.  We know you will laugh all the way from start to finish this Junie B. Jones type book for boys.

Don't forget to check out Katherine Applegate's website today about her Newbery winning book The One and Only Ivan and the interview with her in the School Library Journal.
